Story of Transformation
Mukakomite
But we are changing and through Rabagirana, we have found a teacher of hope and dignity. We will rise together.
Discovering Dignity
Mukakomite shared with deep emotion, "As someone from a marginalized tribe, I’ve long carried the weight of rejection and invisibility. For the first time in my life, through Rabagirana Ministries, I felt seen and accepted."
"In the training I attended especially those on community development and leadership. I discovered not just knowledge, but a sense of dignity. My heart began to burn with a passion for change. I realized that without education, our community cannot develop. That’s why I made it my mission to ensure all marginalized children go to school. Today, all of my own children are in school, and that alone is a testimony of hope."
Building Bridges
She went on to describe the painful realities her community faces: many avoided paying health insurance, resisted legal marriage, ignored family planning, and battled addiction.
"But something changed in me," she said. "I started building bridges with local government to help address these issues."
Rising Together
"It hasn’t been easy, but the progress is real. Our pottery group, once only focused on daily survival, is now saving money and learning new skills like painting and cement work. We’ve even changed in how we present ourselves and think about the future."
Mukakomite now dreams of teaching others in nearby villages, believing transformation is possible. "I understand now why others didn’t respect us," she said, not with bitterness, but with resolve. "But we are changing and through Rabagirana, we have found a teacher of hope and dignity. We will rise together."
